Culture:
-- The Dronavi culture revolves around the Guild-Corporations. When introducing themselves Dronavi give their given name, clan name and guild. Insults given to an individual will mostly be ignored given the rough nature of the Dronavi but insults given to a guild will draw severe ire. Each Guild-Corp is made up of several work clans, extended families that have be part of the guild and practiced their trade for generations. Except for joining the CDF very few Dronavi ever leave the Guild-corp they were born to as individuals but on occasion a whole clan will leave to either join or form a new Guild-Corp. There are lesser and greater Guild-Corps strewn throughout Dronavi space.
The existing Greater Guild-Corps and their respective market shares are as follows,
Jotun Heavy Industries (16%)
Vanguard Mining Consortium (14%)
Skajarvic Manufacturing (12%)
Larshell Aerospace (12%)
Garm Munitions (11%)
Harskall Excavation and Construction (10%)
--All Dronavi outside their homes wear respirators whether the atmosphere would require it or not. The Respirators are stylized to fit the personal tastes and budget of the owner. The rest of their clothing tends to be made of heavy processed leather in a wide verity of colors.
History: Before the arrival of Luyin High Hroth was on the verge of total war between the greater Guild-Corps. With all market shares and resources on the planet claimed the only option many boards could envision was the extreme hostile takeover of their rivals. The first skirmishes had just broken out between the Guild-sec forces when the heavily damaged Luyin Arc ship DĂșnedain came in the system. The shock of the sudden appearance of a possible common enemy caused the Guild-Corps the cease hostilities until the incident was resolved. Once communication was established and the request for refugee status processed the bidding wars began. Each Guild-Corp was hungry for the technology offer by the new comers, knowing that expansion into the galaxy would open up new markets and resources. Each Guild offer extravagant accommodations and status in exchange for the aliens' technological expertise.
The realization that the Dronavi were not alone in the universe as well as the warnings of the Luyin about the race that wiped out their civilization facilitated a new era of cooperation between the Guild-Corps resulting in the creation of the Combine and the CDF. For the first time in generations the Guild-Corps face regulation by a organization they don't have complete control over.
Military: The Combine Defense Force (CDF) is responsible for the protection of the entirty of the Combine's holdings across the stars without the bias and favoritism that is rampant throughout the everyday running of the Combine. When a Dronav joins the CDF they permanently lose their member status in their Guild-Corp of origin. The are not however required to forfeit their clan affiliation.
Each Guild-Corp also maintains a private military force that protects their interests. The Guild forces tend to be better equipped, more specialized and covert than the average CDF trooper. Guild-Corps often second detachments of their security operatives to the CDF so they can gain combat experience outside of the conflicts between Guilds.
