Faction:
Graal Warlords
Capital World:
Gruul
Description: Gruug is an industrialized and smog filled wasteland.
An arid and hot planet, Gruul bristled with the towering factories of the Graal civilization and was a thriving world of machinery and labor. Few fates were worse than the depths of a Graal work factory, or worse, a munitions plant. Workers lived and died in the bowls of valleys trenched free from the earth for no purpose other than the placement of bigger and more productive factories.
What remains untouched by Graal hands is run amok by raiders, bandits and radiation from three thermonuclear wars.

Government System:
The Graal Warlords are a loose confederation of military juntas that came together only in the wake of the discovery that the Graal were not alone. They are held together by their desire to war, enslave lesser species and live especially hedonistic lives. The military juntas are exceptionally corrupt and administratively inefficient. The largest three juntas, the Targathi Planetary Republic, the Mogg Conclave and the Fathagar Military Assembly often engage in proxy wars when not unified in invading other planets. The leading cause of death for a typical Graal on Gruul is another Graal.
Culture:
The Graal are pride themselves on martial strength above all. In Graal culture, slaves are a form of prestigious currency and can be killed for dishonorable acts. A Graal without slaves is referred to as a ringless, as each new slave is indicated by a ringed tattoo added to the arm--or for exceptionally rare slaves--and neck. Slaves that are lost through dishonor are a great stain on the Graal, as their tattoos forever make their "former" status known. Graal Law--known as the Hathar Baaku--is simple, yet binary. There is little room for interpretations in the Thirty-Three Codes of Hathar Baaku.
The Graal believe in the Mattag--the Next Battleground and believe that Graal enter either as spectators or combatants in the Eternal Fire. Those who die in combat enter the Matag as combatants, destined to fight and bring glory for all of eternity. Those killed outside of combat, even in old age, are expected to join only as spectators, doomed to watch as others bring glory to the Graal. The greatest dishonor of a Graal is to be taken as a slave.
History:
The Graal Warlords do not possess a cohesive, professional military. Instead, they rally under strong and charismatic leadership to come together to expand their influence and territory, and then fall again to infighting. Graal Warlords typically send their strongest and most proud warriors into the fray for honor and bragging rights, while the Gnatar--those few intellectual Graal, expand resources in a constant arms race to design the biggest and most lethal ships. If assembled under a single leader, tertiary observers have indicated that the Graal would outnumber any of their neighbors, but given Graal psychology and culture, the possibility of such an event occurring is nearly non-existent.

Colony:
Morguth Prime
Description:
Dominated by a single settlement of 250,000,000 Graal, Morguth Prime is a largely unstable volcanic planet rich in dense metals. It is home to the Gornuth Prison Complex, where it's prisoners toil away as an infinite source of free labor for the Warlords industrial extraction efforts. It is similarly home to the Graal Mercenary Corps, where extraordinarily courageous Graal sign up as a professional fighting force for hire for various Warlords.
Colony History:
Colonized nearly 150 years ago, efforts to expand past the settlement of Primus have proven disastrous. Without arable land and water, Morguth Prime's lifeline is a constant trade off by sending off it's precious metals in exchange for water. During the Black Years, a three year period of famine on Gruul, the Warlords could not afford to send food to Morguth Prime and it's population dropped from 600,000,000 to 250,000,000.
Point Purchases:
- Morguth Prime (10 Points)
- 5 Military Regiments (5 Points)
- 2 Frigates (10 Points)
