Log - Explorator Hef
The Astrogator’s first order was to purify our home system of cosmis debris. None objected, none were surprised. To put Ynnoch to the side of another agenda would be a mistake incapable of being made by someone who had come this far. Before he took on the name Astrogator, Torj’s name was Counselor. Before it was Counselor, it was Theurge. But no one else is named Astrogator, so Torj has no family. I have spoken with the other explorators, and we have elected to commit ourselves over once again alongside the Astrogator’s dedication.
Log – Engineer Zeraal
The Astrogator conducted extensive examinations of every conceivable aspect of the Miia before he cleared the launch. It was unusual; another in his position would have instead demanded assessments from the supervisors of each section. I’m certain he is unbearably lonely.
Log – Explorator Thond
The Astrogator has assigned himself to our training sessions. He clearly will never be a soldier, but he acclimates to a shot hammer quickly. His motivations are fairly clear: he wishes not to be a liability in a hostile engagement, and he seeks some degree of belonging from the explorators. I am only wary of him for his past; Torj has made a career on transparency, rising above his peers even as he published his methods. Few could match his innovation, but none could improve upon it. But I bear no criticism to his purpose here. No one else could have done it, and I imagine he is the only one who would.

We will breach the circumstellar debris field in a day. I go forward with no family and no honor, not after what I would have done with our dead. But this project is not an apology. I do it because it is Ynnoch.
